Schmidt is and has been a very popular writer in Holland for generations .. her most popular books are on Jip en Janneke a neighbouring boy and girl that research and contemplate their surroundings .. the illustrator that got famous with illustrating the books of Annie M.G. Schmidt is Fiep Westendorp instead of Jenny Dalenoord that made the illustration here. The art of Fiep is silhouetty like Jennys but tighter

Last week fashion Designers Victor and Rolf showed 'Cinderella' on 'Zomergasten'. It was an animation created with silhouettes made only with a pair of scissors. It inspired them for their designs. Maybe this inspired Jenny too?
